India, a bright spot in metals consumption: MMR Seminar
With the outlook for the global economy improving, the metals market is anticipating further price gains. Positive relationship between economic growth and metals consumption is of course well established.
To discuss the metals sector outlook in the backdrop of GST, FTA, anti-dumping duties and other important government policies, MMR Events, an arm of Minerals & Metals Review publications - Braj Binani Group, organised the 9th annual one-day seminar on "Metals Outlook & Market Trends 2017" on 12th May, 2017 at Hotel Orchids, Mumbai.
The Guest of Honour of the seminar Mr Sudhir Mungantiwar, Cabinet Minister of Finance, Planning and Forest Department, Government of Maharashtra, provided valuable insights on Goods and Services Tax (GST) and its impact on the business community.
The Special Guest, Dr Aruna Sharma, Secretary, Ministry of Steel, Government of India, expressed through a letter communication how India's steel industry is en route to attain the second spot in global steel production.
The event was well supported by Hindalco Industries Ltd - Unit Birla Copper; MTC Group, Kotak Commodities and Metals Recycling Association of India.
